Backyard dope grower busted

A MAN will face court on drugs charges after police raided a Toormina home this week.

The Coffs/Clarence Target Action Group (TAG) swooped on the Bower Crescent home at 10.20am on Tuesday and found a man on the premises.

The man allegedly led police to a garden shed in the backyard where police seized 12 cannabis plants ranging in height from 20cm to 60cm growing under artificial lights.

Police also found a larger cannabis plant growing behind the shed.

Officers were then allegedly led to the laundry where they found 432 grams of cannabis.

A man, 39, will appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on charges of cultivating a prohibited plant and possessing a prohibited drug.
