B-double in crash
A MAN is in critical condition after colliding with a B-double on Thursday night.
About 10.45pm a Kenworth B-double was travelling north on the Pacific Highway. While negotiating a left-hand bend, the trailer of the B-double moved into the southbound lane and into the path of a southbound Ford Falcon.
The Falcon, driven by a 41-year-old Penrith man and also carrying another man and three children under 10, sustained serious damage.
It subsequently veered off the highway and into bushland.
The driver of the Ford Falcon sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital before being flown to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Two of the three children received minor injuries.
Investigations into the crash are continuing.
