Fun runners do Australia proud
WHILE grey skies and rain made the Australia Day public holiday a good opportunity for a sleep-in, a committed field of fun runners hit the pavement and sand this morning.
The 10km event was won by Richard Pearson in a time of 34 minutes 48 seconds.
Paul Woodhouse from Dorrigo was the runner-up and Pam Rooney won the women's event.
In the 5km fun run, Karmen Malou was first over the line in a time of 16 minutes 45 seconds.
Luke Tarrant was the runner-up and the Northern Beaches' Carly Swanson was the first women home.
