The Song Company presents Aussie favourites

FOR one night only, The Song Company, one of the world's leading vocal ensembles, will perform at the Jetty Memorial Theatre at 8pm on Friday, August 1.

The Song Company has long revered Banjo Patterson's piece Waltzing Matilda as a national gem and so they decided to put together a program celebrating Waltzing Matilda with other well-loved Australian songs, which they will present on Friday.

As Australia's only full-time professional vocal ensemble, the highly experienced singers of The Song Company are led by internationally acclaimed artistic director, Roland Peelman.

The ensemble is unique in its stylistic diversity and its repertoire covers vocal music from the tenth century to the present day.

Proceeds from the concert will support the 2008 Helfgott Scholarships.

The bi-annual scholarships are worth $3000 and support advanced learning for young Coffs Coast musicians and performers.

The Waltzing Matilda concert will be at the Jetty Memorial Theatre at 8pm on Friday.

Tickets from $15, bookings can be made at Jetty Theatre on 6652 8088.
