Aussie swimmer Maddison Elliott takes home four gold medals

MADDISON Elliott was the star for Australia on the final day of the IPC world championships in Glasgow, taking out the S8 50m freestyle final to give her four gold medals for the meet.

The 16-year-old from Newcastle also combined with Ellie Cole, Madeleine Scott and Lakeisha Patterson to win silver in the 34-point medley relay.

Australia finished seventh in the competition with 30 medals - nine gold, eight silver and 13 bronze.

Russia led the way with 71, including 32 gold.
