COFFS Harbour City Council is seeking consultants to guide the community and stakeholders through the development of a cultural strategic plan for the region.

The plan will outline strategies to recognise the central role of arts and culture and their important contribution to its economic, social and cultural well-being.

The consultants will be called upon to promote the Coffs Coast as a place for creative expression and recreational opportunities, while proposing new sources of income generation, future growth and prosperity.

They will guide cultural investment and activity over the next five years by informing Council of planning, programming and funding priorities.

The first stage of work required is to develop a cultural strategic plan, including a new cultural policy.

The second stage is to draw on this work and consider in detail the role and impacts of a performing arts centre.

A full fixed price for this work is anticipated to be in the range of $60-70,000.

Proposals must be submitted to Coffs Harbour City Council by Thursday, March 31.
