Art Central becoming a creative hub

IT HAS been more than six months since the doors opened at Art Central, and more than 14,000 visitors have enjoyed viewing an eclectic range of work and meeting the artists.

Conceived from an idea by Jaramie Scahill, Art Central in Coffs Central shopping centre has blossomed to be a creative hub showcasing a diverse range of work in various mediums.

The gallery is open seven days, manned by artists and has represented more than 60 individuals, ranging from budding art students to nationally renowned artists like John Van Der Kolk and Stefan Bruggisser, both making their mark on the international sculpting scene, and Adrienne Hmelnitski who was the recent winner of the Sculpture on the Park, Urunga.

The gallery is also noted for the encouragement of upcoming artists in the community and showcases a new display every eight weeks.

Gaining the reputation as a modern art space for quality art and gift ware, Art Central has become a destination for art lovers of all genres and a place where you can meet and talk to the artists.

If you are an artist call into the gallery and grab an application form as Art Central is always looking for new content to keep exhibitions fresh and interesting.
