Arrest following alleged abduction

A MAN has been refused bail over the alleged abduction of a woman on the NSW South Coast on the weekend.

Early Saturday, police released the image of a 41-year-old woman who was reported missing the day before when she failed to pick her daughter up from a child care centre.

When the woman's abandoned car was found at Caseys Beach, police feared the worst but a short time later, she was found.

She was taken to hospital and later released.

About 11am Sunday, detectives from the State Protection Unit arrested a 43-year-old man on three outstanding arrest warrants.

Police will allege the man kidnapped the woman and was in possession of a replica hand gun and knife.

He was charged with a number of kidnapping and intimidation offences and remanded in custody until his court appearance on Monday morning.
