Arrawarra interchange on display

LOCAL state member Andrew Fraser is inviting community members to view a display about the upcoming changes to local traffic during the building of the new Arrawarra interchange.

The display will be staffed by representatives from the project team working on the highway.

"It is proposed to redirect traffic away from the existing intersection of Arrawarra Beach Road and the Pacific Highway from late August until the new interchange is opened in late 2013, weather permitting," Mr Fraser said.

"The proposed closure of the intersection will allow the project team to finish building the Arrawarra interchange sooner and increase safety by separating work vehicles and local traffic.

"Residents who normally use this intersection will be able to access the highway via the northern intersection with Eggins Drive."

Representatives of the project team will be available to discuss the proposal at the Arrawarra Beach Holiday Park on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
