Public assistance wanted after Ulmarra robbery attempt
2.30pm: POLICE have called for public assistance in the search for a man who attempted to rob an Ulmarra newsagency early this morning.
About 6.50am, a man entered the newsagency on Coldstream St armed with an implement and demanded money.
The owner of the business confronted the offender and after a short altercation the man left the premises.
The offender is believed to be between 38 and 45 years of age and has been described as being approximately 170cm tall with a medium to solid build, unshaven, and of Caucasian appearance.
He was wearing a black windcheater jacket, dark shorts and sneakers at the time of the incident.
Police have asked anyone who saw the man described at Ulmarra yesterday to call Coffs/Clarence police on 6642 0222 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
11.30am: POLICE are investigating an armed robbery which took place at the Ulmarra newsagency early this morning.
Coffs/Clarence LAC crime manager Darren Jameson said a male entered the newsagency on Coldstream St about 6.50am armed with an implement and challenged the owner of the premises.
Police are on scene now.
