Editorial - Saturday, January 3: Are you a whiz with puzzles?

WE'RE into a new year so it's time for new beginnings.

A revamped puzzles page starts in your Coffs Coast Advocate today on page 40.

If you normally whiz through your puzzles faster than you can say Sudoku, this page will take up more of your time (and brain power), thanks to the number of mind-bogglers more than doubling.

Research indicates readers want more puzzles, so we are moving to a page with more than double the puzzles you now have to kickstart your brain in the mornings.

Our bi-weekly editions will include a different page each day, but included in the mind-boggling mix will be a quick crossword and two Sudoku.

And what used to be known as Pineapple is now called Target. Different name, same challenging puzzle.

On top of that, from this weekend you will get a jumbo crossword every Saturday, with more than 90 clues to keep you busy.

Of course, more puzzles means fewer cartoons, but this change was a reaction to reader feedback.

Either way, we'd like to hear what you think about the page redesign and the range of puzzles.
