Arabian party Coffs Harbour style

THE Park Beach sand dunes will be home to an Arabian cocktail party next Friday night to benefit the Coffs Harbour Surf Club.

One of the biggest nights on the social calendar, the event will honour the late Peter ‘Tubby’ Wallace, a much-loved past president of the surf club.

Comedian Tahir ‘Habib’ Billgic will give some authenticity to the evening as master of ceremonies, thanks to his Middle Eastern background, made famous on the long-running SBS television series ‘Pizza’.

In a departure from the formal dinners of past Tubby’s fundraising events, the Arabian Nights Cocktail Party has a more relaxed vibe, making the most of the surf club location.

Tickets cost $90, which includes fabulous Middle Eastern food, beer, wine, champagne, soft drink and hookahs all night long.

Themed cocktails, the Persian Princess and Beirut Blitz are tempting delights for Arabian partygoers.

Aside from funny man Tahir, entertainment will be provided by DJ Dirty Luck and some talented belly dancers and two charity auctions will be conducted.

Friday’s surprise-filled Arabian night starts at 7pm at the surf club.

Ticket sales ($90) close online at www.stickytickets.com.au/5644 on Thursday and at the Westpac Harbour Drive branch or surf club restaurant and bar at lunchtime Friday.
