SUMMER looks like being a tonne of fun at the Woolgoolga Pool.

It has become the first community pool on the east coast to take delivery of an Aqua Ball.

The $4000 floating toy has already received the thumbs up from everyone who has experienced it.

The Aqua Ball will be available for school holiday fun and will be brought out randomly throughout summer.

The addition of the ball caps a stellar year for the pool, which is the only one in the area to have won a national award from Swim Australia.

Pool manager Scott Hunt, who became the manager of the Coffs Harbour Memorial Pool 25 years ago, recently oversaw a $150,000 upgrade to the facility with the installation of a state-of-the-art ozone filtration system.

It is the only public pool between Newcastle and the Gold Coast with ozone purified clean water.

The Woolgoolga Pool was the first non-council managed pool in regional NSW to be heated six years ago, which means even if summer skies turn grey, and throughout autumn, it remains a very comfortable 28 degrees.
