Aqua-aerobics makes big splash

THERE was plenty of splashing and laughing at the Coffs Harbour Memorial Pool yesterday when a gaggle of seniors dived in to get fit.

Proving it’s not just the young who get a kick from jumping into the deep end, more than 60 seniors turned up for an aqua-aerobics session led by the pool’s resident instructor, Mary-Anne Barnes.

For former Dorrigo residents and now Coffs Harbour retirees Val Baldwin and Marg Curtis the heated indoor pool proved the perfect place to catch up and get some exercise.

The seniors fitness session was jointly organised by the City Council and the management of the Memorial Pool and was just one of a host of activities to keep our over-55s active during Seniors Week.
