Young league talent on show in Coffs today

By BRAD GREENSHIELDS

ADVOCATE Park today plays host to some of the best rugby league talent going around in country NSW.

The CRL development unit will be conducting the Northern State finals of the Country Cup with two local schools winning their way through to represent the North Coast region.

Toormina High will be playing in the under 15s division while Nambucca Heads High will start as one of the favourites in the under 13s.

These schools will be taking on the best teams from the Central Coast, Greater Northern and Northern Rivers gala days.

The Country Cup initiative from the CRL has been a fantastic success since it's inception with many sighting the gala day format as well as the exclusion of metropolitan schools as being responsible for the competition's success.

The victors in today's gala day will progress to the state final which will be held in Dubbo on August 17.
