Westpac helicopter appeal ?fantastic

"THANK-YOU. Thank-you. Thank-you."

That was the message from Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter community relations and fundraising officer, Pat Carroll, after Sunday's annual doorknock appeal.

"We have counted Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Urunga so far and have reached $22,000," Mr Carroll said.

"Last year we raised $16,500, so this figure is absolutely fantastic. We still have Nambucca, Woolgoolga and the Northern Beaches to count so this year will be really successful."

Mr Carroll said he would like to thank all the volunteers who helped out on the day.

"I'd like to give a big thank you to all the kids who helped out. It was wonderful," Mr Carroll said.

Money raised on the day goes towards the ongoing $3.5 million annual cost of running the service's three helicopters.
