Weather okay for pancakes

PANCAKES were selling like, well, hotcakes yesterday at Urunga at the annual UnitingCare Pancake Day.

In a bid to raise money for UnitingCare's causes, Urunga UnitingCare prepared more than 600 pancakes for the hungry crowds that swamped their Bonville Street premises.

Organiser, Diana Bruce, was happy with the day.

"We had a very good turnout, despite the wet weather," she said.

The church took almost $600 that will now be donated to UnitingtCare Burnside Coffs Harbour, up on their efforts from last year by almost $100.

"We're very pleased. The cooks were flat out for the whole two hours."

People enjoyed the tasy treats with their choice of strawberry jam, maple syrup or lemon juice with cream or sugar.
