We have our little angel

AFTER 147 days in hospital, Phylicia Stock is finally home ? and that is where parents Paula and Phill plan on keeping her.

Phylicia was born on October 13, 2004, three months earlier than her due date and weighing in at only 900 grams. Six months on she is a healthy 10 pound 4 ounces (4645 grams) and settling nicely into her new surrounds.

There are still a few obstacles to overcome, such as hearing and eye tests, but the future is looking bright.

"The most important thing at the moment is to make it through the winter months ahead, as it is crucial we keep any viruses away from our little girl," Mrs Stocks said.

And while they couldn't be happier to have her home, Mrs Stock said she and her husband still had moments of holding their breath.

"It is the thought of not knowing what is in store for us. I hope we can enjoy life as a normal family down the track. The first 12 months will be the hardest and I just hope we can get through it smoothly," she said.

"She is a wonderful baby, very happy and content. I guess we had to get something working in our favour ? we have a little angel."
