Want a ride in the sky?

COFFS Harbour's latest attraction is set to test the limits of even the most seasoned adrenaline junkies.

The Skywalker, standing at more than 25 metres tall and guaranteed to put your stomach to the test, is the star attraction of the Coffs Jetty Family Carnival.

March's Amusements imported the purpose-built ride from KMG Manufactures in Holland at a cost of $1.6 million.

It is one of only seven in the world and the only one in operation in the Southern Hemisphere.

Luke Hennessy, from March's Amusements, said Coffs Jetty Family Carnival is the first time the ride has been open to the public.

"We first spotted pictures of this heart stopper at a convention in America in 2005," he said.

"We were so impressed that we travelled to England to experience it in action.

"After I tried it, I knew we had to have it. "It's the highest extreme thrill ride in the world."

Mr Hennesy said The Skywalker has proven to be the top carnival earner in America and Holland.

"Based on the past few nights, it will be the same in Australia."
