Urunga pennant team honoured

IT was a day of great pride at Urunga Women's Bowling Club last Thursday when their victorious No. 5 Pennants team was honoured.

The unfurling of the No. 5 Pennant took place with Mid North Coast District President Fay Haber officiating.

Urunga had previously won the flag in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and to win in 2005 was particularly significant as District has decided to disband this grade in the future.

All members of the team are bowlers of less than five years' experience and it is to their credit that they were able to win their final match after a close fought contest with Coffs Ex-Services.

In addition to District President Fay, Club President Colleen Duncan welcomed to the celebrations District Vice-Presidents Lorraine Cheal and Noelene Lawrence and District Secretary Irene Cowley as well as our Life Members Clarice Grogan, Rina Tonkin and Elvie Christian.

Team members are Marg Simpson, Melinda Tanks, Catherine White, Fay Sare, Yvette Payne, Isabel Pettit and Wendy Hodges.

Team members Wendy Morrin and Trudy Steltenpool were absent.
