Under 15 girls win State hockey title at Newcastle

COFFS HARBOUR is celebrating another State hockey title after the under-15 girls won the Northern NSW tournament at Newcastle on the weekend.

The girls competed in Division 2 playing four pool games.

The girls were undefeated in these games defeating Hastings 3-0, Western Districts 4-0 and Newcastle 1-0 and drawing 0-0 with North Shore.

This resulted in the team qualifying for the final against Far North Coast where they won 3-0.

Congratulations should not only go to the girls for going through the titles undefeated and also not conceding a goal but also for the conduct over the entire weekend and were great ambassadors for Coffs Harbour hockey.

The team comprised Allie Shipman (c), Emma Bailey, Ellen Barry, Kiaya Brownlee, Carissa Chester, Sam Davidson, Jehani Drayton, Lucy Knox, Megan Miller, Gabbi Mitton, Helen Moseley, Jessica Sharkey, Allie Shipman, Sophie Watt and Temeika Woollard.

Manager was Sue Brownlee, coach Tony Mitton and assistant coach Amy Knox.

The girls look forward to showing off their winners' medals the next time the juniors play on July 15.
