Thieves still at large

POLICE are still hunting the armed bandits who robbed the Sawtell Bowling Club on September 4.

On that occasion, two men, each brandishing a sword, walked into the club and ordered patrons to get on the floor.

Employees handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The pair then fled the club with the money.

No-one was injured, but the bandits remain at large.

One is described as Aboriginal in appearance, with a medium build, the other is described as having a medium build, wearing a navy blue jacket with the symbol and word Adidas in white writing on the back.

Detective Acting Inspector Peter O'Reilly would not be drawn yesterday on a possible link between the armed hold-ups.
