THE weather may not have been perfect but that didn't stop the group of motoring journalists gathered in Coffs Harbour yesterday for the 'global launch' of the Toyota Aurion V6 from enjoying a scenic drive around the Coffs Coast.

"The weather didn't hamper our plans at all," Toyota senior executive director of sales and marketing, David Buttner, said.

"In fact, it gives the Aurion V6 a chance to shine ? its handling and performance will be under the microscope and we're more than confident it will perform."

As part of the drive program, the 35 journalists have been broken into two groups and taken on a test-drive up to Dorrigo, Coutts Crossing and back to Opal Cove Resort, which is playing host to the event.

The second group will get behind the wheel today.

"The region has some amazing driving routes, the Dorrigo has just been re-surfaced and the country drive around Coutts Crossing gave the journalists a drive in a range of conditions," Mr Buttner said.

A special dinner was held at Opal Cove Resort last night.
