COFFS Harbour's 'other' equine superstar Takeover Target is now rated the best sprinter on grass tracks in the world.
The international jetsetter has been awarded a ranking of 121 in the latest list of World's Leading Horses released by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.
It follows his prestigious Timeform rating of 127 announced in the United Kingdom on October 13, placing him just below dirt track specialists Hurricane Run, Shirocco and Deep Impact (all 131.)
Accompanied by trainer Joe Janiak, the gelding arrived in Hong Kong last Friday to prepare for the Gr1 HK Sprint at Sha Tin on December 10, the final race in the Global Sprint Challenge.
A win will earn a $US1 million bonus for victory at the top level in three different countries and will make him the first horse to win at Group One level in the four participating nations.
