TAFE gets three gongs

COFFS Coast residents receive the best training available in the state. The region has earned this bragging right after taking out both the NSW Small Training Provider of the Year and NSW Large Training Provider of the Year in the 2005 Training Awards. For the second year in a row, TAFE NSW North Coast Institute won the Large Training Provider Award, announced at a special dinner in Sydney last week. The award finished off a fantastic week for the institution which on the same night also received an Award of Distinction in the Tourism Education and Training category in the 2005 North Coast Tourism Awards held at Port Macquarie. This was on top of their win earlier in the week of the Tourism Education and Training award in the 2005 Northern Rivers Tourism Training Awards. Institute director, Neil Black, was thrilled, saying to win not just one but three high-profile awards was testament to the quality of education the TAFE provided. "I'm thrilled. These three awards are proof positive that the North Coast Institute is simply the best training provider on the North Coast," Mr Black said. "Knowing how hard our teachers, and our administrative and support staff work, I can only say that the three awards are just rewards for their outstanding efforts in the past few years." Coffs Harbour's Enterprise and Training Company, better known as ETC, was recognised for its quality training services, winning the title of 2005 NSW Small Training Provider of the Year.
