Surfboats hit the water



COFFS Harbour Surf Life Saving Club hosted rounds five and six of the Plantation Hotel North Coast surfboat premiership at Park Beach on the weekend.

Held in a small half to one metre surf, conditions were good with a southerly breeze that strengthened on Sunday.

Racing was very competitive with some crews looking strong enough to make an impact on the State and Australian Championships in eight weeks at Kurrawa.

Results for the competition were:

Open men's, rounds 5 and 6: Yamba 1, Minnie Waters 2, Wauchope-Bonny Hills 3.

Open women's, round 5: Coffs Harbour 1, Macksville-Scotts Head 2, WauchopeBonny Hills 3.

Round 6: Macksville-Scotts Head 1, Wauchope-Bonny Hills 2, Coffs Harbour 3.

Under 19 men's rounds 5 and 6: Wauchope-Bonny Hills 1, Woolgoolga 2, Minnie Waters 3.
