WHAT does Skinner Motors and fashion have in common?

No, it isn't the fact that models drive nice cars, but that the Coffs Harbour motor dealer will next Wednesday hold Skinner Motors ? Driven by Fashion, fashion parade and cocktail party.

The fashion parade will feature three local designers ? Niki Naylor, Sandra Rowe and Violet Miklos and five local retailers.

The designers will be competing for $1000 and the possible selection in the national Mercedes?Benz Start Up Program.

Judging will be editor of Coast Living, Melissa Coakes, Jonathon Hibbard, Michael Hibbard and presenter of ABC's 'The New Inventors', Alison Page.

And what will the judges be looking for?

Ms Coakes will be looking out for a design that is fresh, new and timeless, while Jonathon and Michael are keeping it practical.

"Something that can be used. Some designs that you see on the catwalks are just not practical," Jonathon said.

Proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Contact Anne Blair on 6652 1933.
