SLOW RESPONSE

By JENI FAULKNER

DRIVERS have been repeatedly told to slow down on the Pacific Highway at Bonville, and it appears from today they no longer have an option.

The NSW Minister for Roads, Mr Joe Tripodi, has announced that speed limits at Bonville and Pine Creek have been reduced, a decision he made after a great public outcry from the Coffs Harbour community.

From today the township of Bonville will have a reduced speed to 60km/h, and the existing 90km/h limits on the approaches to Bonville will be dropped to 80km/h.

Also, two speed cameras will be installed at Pine Creek and Bonville.

Mr Tripodi said they would be operational by Christmas.
