"YOU know you've achieved something great when you see young children singing and dancing up the front of a concert."

This is just how promoters Darren Bensley and Sonja Milton of 1429 Entertainment are seeing things today after the Shannon Noll concert at the Coffs Harbour International Stadium at the weekend.

About 3000 people were entertained by the former Australian Idol contestant and, even though numbers were disappointing, the night has been hailed a success.

Earlier in the week fans were disillusioned with bad weather conditions and slow ticket sales but, by Saturday morning, everyone's fears were laid to rest.

"It was a fantastic night with a wonderful family atmosphere," Mr Bensley said.

"I have been working with bands for 15 years and I have never seen so many people together, families, laughing and enjoying themselves."

The new promoters have only been established in the area for the past 12 months and this was the first concert they had brought to the area.

The concert also marked the 10th anniversary for the stadium and it appears Coffs Harbour will play host to more outdoor concert events in the future.

"We are now looking at bringing a number of other concerts here," Mr Bensley said.

He said these would be national and international performers.
