Seven win age divisions

SAWTELL Swim Club dominated their annual Explosion carnival on Saturday securing age championships in seven different divisions.

Ryan Magill showed a strong improvement in his freestyle and consistent placings to take out the eight years boy champion.

Lindsay Koops in her first year with Sawtell was strong in all stroke disciplines, finishing on top in the nine years girls.

Tyler Partland was just a whisker away from a State qualifying time but is showing early form which earnt him 10 years champion.

Breaking the 10 years girls backstroke record again is becoming a norm for age champion Leah Bird and it's only a matter of time before she has records tumbling in other strokes.

Jordon Monro proved that being last week's swimmer of the week was no fluke, picking up the points to earn him the 12 years boy champion.

Matt Greenway in the 13 years age group showed consistency and strength to take the points for his age champion trophy while Breanna Jozeps edged out her main competition to be 13 years girl champion.

Sawtell Swimming Club will host it's normal Friday night program with races commencing at 5.30pm.
