Second chance

SAWTELL soccer star Jenna Tristram will be hoping for a change of fortune tonight when Australia takes on Germany at the FIFA women's under-19 world championship in Thailand.

The Young Matildas made a shaky start to their campaign this week when they lost 2-1 to highly-rated Canada. Tristram started the match for Australia, but was replaced at half time with Canada leading 2-0.

Australia managed to pull back one goal in the second half.

The match wasn't without controversy, with the Young Matildas playing one player short for 20 minutes after goalkeeper Alison Logue was sent off.

Australia will meet Germany at 9pm (AEDST) tonight. The match will be shown on SBS at 11.40pm.
