Schooldays, oh, happy schooldays



'Don't worry, Mum, everything is going great on my first day of school' . . . Chloe Sawle-Dwyer's first-day nerves are wiped away on finding a phone to make an excited 'call' home to her Mum. Both nervous and happy to finally be at 'big school' the Tyalla kindergarten student yesterday took the big step that proved just as hard for parents as children. Tears and hugs were the order of the day with one mother being consoled by her son saying 'it's okay, Mum, I'll be home soon'. About 1300 kindergarten students are expected to start at Government schools this week for the 2006 school year in the Coffs-Clarence education district. Many will also start their schooling at Catholic and independent schools.
