School sheep bashed

A SENSELESS attack on farm animals at Toormina High School's agricultural plot has appalled police and the school community.

Senior Constable Greg Neville said that overnight on Wednesday, intruders scaled the agriculture plot fence and bashed two sheep and two lambs with either a garden rake or a lump of wood.

One of the sheep was so badly injured ? suffering a broken shoulder and legs, and facial injuries ? that staff had to destroy the animal yesterday.

Const. Neville said the surviving pets suffered superficial injuries.

"It's appalling behaviour," he said.

Anyone who can help police find the offenders should call Sawtell Police Station on 6653 1205.
