COFFS Harbour youth is set to have more opportunities to get into the media business, with the establishment of a new free training facility.

RAWFM 88.0, in conjunction with Admax media, have registered with Genex Media Trainto provide free media training.!

General Manager of RAWFM, Mark Pannowitz, said it was an exciting thing for the youth of Coffs Harbour.

"We will be running training programs for radio both in broadcast and production as well as television," he said.

"This is a group of predominant business people that have come together to promote the development of youth within the media. We're in the process of forming links with schools along with job placement agencies."

"We're really looking forward to giving the youth of Coffs an opportunity to get some experience and knowledge within the media sector."

Mr Pannowitz said that graduates of the free program will gain experience in on air presenting, as well as qualifications in radio and television production.

The station is under construction, and set to be operational within the month. !
