Retire in safety and luxury

THE growing army of retirees in the Coffs Harbour area is being catered for with a large development at Sawtell.

The first stage of the Boambee Gardens Estate in Walco Drive is now complete and will be thrown open to the public on December 12 from 11am to 3pm.

There are eight units and a show home so far, with a total of 99 residences, 26 serviced apartments, and a large community centre planned for the site.

"There was a huge need for something like this in Coffs Harbour," estate manager Shirley Gannon said.

This is the 10th such development by Gannon Estates, with others in Adelaide, Albury, Wagga and Port Lincoln.

"Boambee Gardens Estate has been designed with beautifully landscaped gardens and a resort-style community centre equipped with a billiard table, library, hairdressing salon and a dining room of restaurant standard," Ms Gannon said.

"With lots of natural light and atriums, it will provide a central meeting place and the opportunity for a range of activities for the residents."

She said the estate offered 'peace of mind' with security features, while allowing residents to maintain their independence.

Ms Gannon also said residents would be able to enjoy the daily interaction with other residents and 'feel safe in the knowledge that you are not alone'.
