Races will kick-start weekend

THE Coffs Harbour Racing Club will host more new sponsors at the track this Friday when they welcome the Tradelink team and their suppliers, to the inaugural 'Tradelink Plumbing Race Day'.

Coffs Harbour has been granted two Friday afternoon meetings over the next two weeks and the club's promotions and marketing co-ordinator Vashti Stewart thinks it's a perfect way for people to get their weekend started.

"Being a Friday afternoon, this is a good one for the workers who can get an early mark," she said.

"If you can, take a flexi-Friday, grab a group of friends and head to the track for a fun kick-start to your weekend."

This Friday afternoon promises a quality eight race TAB program with the feature event being a Class 6 Handicap to be run over the mile which includes the locally trained Annie Sue and Billie Deeay.

Just by being there this Friday, spectators have a chance to win 18 holes of golf for them and a friend at Bonville International Golf Resort.

Gates open at midday this Friday and admission is only $10 for adults. Spectators eligible for concession need to pay only $7 while children under 16 are allowed in free of charge.

For those racing fans who can't enough of the turf, this Saturday local punters can get another fix of the sport of kings as the running of the annual Diggers Tavern Bellingen Cup is being held at Bowraville Racecourse for those looking for more racing action across the weekend.
