Prestige award for Rotarian
IF you're a Rotarian from this region, or even from anywhere north-west of the Coffs Coast, then Glenn York should be familiar.
Glenn has been a volunteer insurances officer for the rotary district for 18 years, covering much of northern and northwest NSW.
This month, for his service, Glenn received the Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary International District 9650.
Glenn provides insurance advice to Rotarians on issues like public liability, personal accident and travel insurance, as well as risk management.
The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow is Rotary's way of expressing its appreciation to a person who demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives of the Rotary Foundation.
This is by contributing to Rotary's humanitarian and educational programs.
The award is named after the founder of Rotary, a Chicago lawyer who started Rotary with three business associates 100 years ago.
Glenn received his award from the District Governor Harry Durey at a conference in Armidale at the beginning of the month.
