Police sting nets huge drug haul



A RAID in Coffs Harbour this week was part of a sting which netted police more than $206,000 in illegal drugs.

Police seized cocaine, 10 litres of GHB, amphetamines, ICE and ketamine, prescription drugs, drug equipment and laptop computers in simultaneous raids at Coffs Harbour, Darlinghurst, Woollahra and Potts Point on Thursday.

The haul was a result of ongoing inquiries by Operation Housecreek comprising Coffs Harbour, Kings Cross, Surry Hills and Rose Bay police.

Four men were arrested, including a 39-year-old from Sydney who appeared in Coffs Harbour Local Court yesterday on charges including importation and conspiracy to supply a prohibited drug (commercial quantity).

He had been apprehended at a local resort.

He was refused bail to reappear at Sydney's Central Local Court on Thursday.

A man, 27, was to appear in Manly Local Court yesterday on five counts of supplying a prohibited drug and supply drug (commercial quantity).

A man, 33, was to appear in Central Local Court on charges of conspiracy to supply a prohibited drug and goods in custody.

A man, 25, was to appear in Central Local Court charged with conspiracy to supply a prohibited drug (commercial quantity), five counts of supplying a prohibited drug, ongoing dealing and other offences.

Police inquiries continue.
