Pays to shop at the Plaza
WITH three young children and another on the way, Pauline Weller was in desperate need of a bigger car.
Little did she realise when she went shopping at the Park Beach Plaza on Saturday morning that she'd be driving a new Holden Commodore home.
But Pauline, 31, did exactly that as the lucky winner of the Park Beach Plaza's Silver Anniversary Giveaway.
She was one of 25 weekly winners in the running to drive away with the Commodore.
All up more than 450,000 entries were received for the competition which marked the 25th birthday of the Plaza.
From humble beginnings in 1979, the Park Beach Plaza is now one of the biggest retail complexes in regional NSW, and continues to grow.
The latest vote of confidence in the Plaza is coming from Terry White Chemists which will later this month complete a $1-million refurbishment of its store.
The national pharmacy chain, which has 111 franchises from Cairns to Perth now has a turnover in excess of $5000 million a year and more than 5000 employees.
The pharmacy is expanding by an additional 250 square metres amnd in a first for NSW with include a Medicare Private shopfront.
Pharamacist manager and partner in the business Tanya Maloney says the local Terry White franchise now employees more than 40 people.
"We can now ensure a one-stop health, wellbeing and beauty service including a medical centre and new-look pharmacy and administration centres," Ms Maloney said.
