SAWTELL/TOORMINA Little Athletics Centre has 14 athletes qualified for 29 events at the NSW State Championships at Homebush this weekend
This outstanding achievement is a credit to athletes, coaches and parents who have contributed many hours of hard work and travel to reach the pinnacle of the Little Athletics season.
Credit must also go to their fellow Centre athletes who helped the qualified athletes reach their peak at the right time of the season.
Qualified athletes are;
n Under 9 ? Lillie Moye 400m, 60m hurdles.
n Under 10 ? Emma Robson 1100m walk.
n Under 11 ? Ryan Cole long jump, 100m, 200m, shot put; Jarvis Duncan 200m, 400m; Luke Feltis 60m hurdle; Nicole Gusman high jump, long jump.
n Under 12 ? Jordan Gusman 1500m; Siobhan Deam 1500m, 800m; Matt Mulrooney high jump.

n Under 14 ? Brianne McCabe 100m, 200m, 80m hurdles, 200m hurdles.
n Under 15 ? Tommy Kennedy triple jump, javelin, Laura Robson shot put, discus, javelin.
Many of the athletes are ranked highly following analysis of results from the five NSW Regional Championships so finals and perhaps medals are not out of the question if athletes can perform at their best.
One of the most pleasing aspects is the range of events that have been qualified for.
Everything from sprints to middle distance running, hurdles, walks, jumps and throws is covered which demonstrates the effort the Centre has made over the year to have a balanced program catering for all athletes.
In weekly competition this year, Centre athletes have achieved a total of over 1000 personal bests.
This focus on personal bests rather than winning has no doubt helped motivate the large number of State Championship qualifiers as well as many other Centre athletes who just enjoy their Friday night competition.
One athlete Justine Bowman in the Under 10s has achieved 26 personal bests during the season a fantastic effort.
In fact 53 athletes have achieved 10 personal bests or more.
Under 11 athlete Bradley Smith has broken his personal best in the discus six times this season the most in any single event.
The Centre will hold its annual presentation day at Boambee Reserve at 5pm on Friday, March 28.
