Opportunity for young boxing bull?

By BRAD GREENSHIELDS

THE young bull in the ring knows that he's got a fair way to go before he can get even close to how good the old bull is but he'd love to find out just how far it is that he has got to go.

That's the attitude of Daniel Baff when it comes to the possibility of he and veteran local Justin Clements stepping into the ring together soon.

Keen to further improve his skills, Baff feels that a bout with someone of Clements' experience could prove invaluable as a learning aid as he finds his way forward as a young professional fighter.

"I understand that Justin has won 'X' amount of titles in the past and has fought for many years not just in Australia but places like England, the Pacific Islands and the United States," Baff said.

"I've never meant any disrespect to Mr. Clements but the rumours are that he says that I've fought no-one but cab drivers and Asians. If this is true then surely someone of his experience and ability isn't scared of someone like me who's only new to the professional ranks.

"I'm new on the block and I'd just love for him to give me an opportunity to see how I go against someone of his experience. There's a fight night in Coffs Harbour in April and if he's available I'd be more than happy to discuss organising something so I can see how I go against him and discuss purses for the night."
