On track for a big weekend

IT'S going to be a big weekend at the Coffs Harbour Showground with the city's model train club throwing open its doors to the community.

Coffs Harbour Model Train Club members had a big hit with their open day last year at Sawtell, so much so they had to find a bigger venue for this one.

The exhibition hall will be open from 9am to 5pm today and 9am to 4pm tomorrow.

A sausage sizzle, drinks and a jumping castle will be available.

The donation entry is $5 for adults and $10 for a family of two adults and two children aged under 15.

A layout from Sydney will be one of the features of the weekend, along with displays from local members. Glenreagh enthusiasts will also be taking part in the exhibition.

"We're looking forward to a great weekend," club spokesman Charlie Reid said.
