LAW Week 2005 proved to be a success in Coffs Harbour.

Solicitor Sandra Rew put on an insightful talk about children's involvement in family law, a field in which she specialises, at the Coffs Harbour City Library.

The library also presented a video exploring what happens in a jury room, which is normally a guarded secret.

"Even people who work in the justice system every day don't really know how juries reach a decision on the accused," producer Julian Russell said.

The Arrive Alive Wheelchair Sports Roadshow was another feature of the week, including a road safety presentation and a wheelchair basketball demonstration by elite wheelchair athletes.

Law Week aims to promote community understanding of the law and its important role in society.

This year's theme, Relationship with the law, encouraged people to explore their relationship with the law and learn about the range of services offered by our legal system.
