Fact is that the North Coast PSSA girls' basketball team was, plain and simple, a very good one.

The North Coast team made it all the way to the NSW All Schools final only to be beaten by Polding, the Northern NSW Catholic Schools diocese 50-32.

A stirring come-from-behind victory in the morning's semi-final against South Coast put the local team into the final, a situation that semed unlikely before the carnival began.

Fine performances from Kororo's Kristy Marshall at point guard and Lismore's Nicola Darke in the centre helped them make it to the state team to go to national championships later in the year.
