No sting in this match

SHE loves to shop. He loves customers. Could they be a perfect match?

There may not be any marriage proposals, or even a date, but on Saturday night William Archer and Alison Holiday made a stunning couple as Coffs Coast's first Colt and Filly of the Year.

Each received more than 100 votes from the public and as well as their title they each won a weekend for two to the Gold Coast's Royal Pines Resort.

"I can't believe it. I really didn't expect to win," a smiling Alison said.

At just 24, William runs his own business selling stingless bee hives. Alison, 25, is a sales assistant at Coral Homes.

The pair were crowned at the Coffs Coast Advocate's inaugural Colts and Fillies Singles Ball, held at the Coffs Harbour Racing Club.

Dressed in their finest, the singletons of the region came out to party at what is hoped to become a yearly event.

For a full wrap up of the night, and all the gossip, see Coast Scene with Millsy in Friday's Coffs Coast Advocate.
