Mother, sons are found dead

POLICE are investigating what appears to be a tragic murder-suicide, with bodies found in a Park Beach apartment building and a Dorrigo National Park amenities block yesterday.

At 10.15am police were called to a complex on Ocean Parade the Ocean Spray Holiday Apartments after reports that two children had been found dead inside an apartment by workers.

Meanwhile, about 1.45pm yesterday a woman was found dead about 70 kilometres away in a Dorrigo National Park toilet block, believed to be at Never Never Picnic Area.

A source from the Sydney Morning Herald said the woman was found hanged.

A Park Beach resident confirmed that police were doorknocking yesterday looking for a mother and her two sons, holidaying from Tamworth, and their vehicle, believed to be a white Kia Carnival.

Police told residents they were looking for a woman aged in her mid-40s and two boys with red hair, not yet in their teens.

The resident said the children were seen playing in the pool on Sunday.

The Daily Telegraph reported the family had been dining at the Park Beach Bowling Club on Saturday and Monday while they were staying at the holiday apartments.

Crime scenes were established at both locations and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths were under way last night.
