More to help with grief and loss

COFFS Coast residents experiencing grief and loss now have more people to turn to for support with nine volunteer grief support workers graduating yesterday.

The volunteers completed a 12-week training course, run by the National Association for Loss and Grief, Coffs Coast chapter, consisting of sessions in loss and grief, communication art and silence, ethics and policies.

Some topics included personal awareness, the grieving process and risk factors, cultures and rituals, telephone support and being a valued volunteer.

The chapter is excited to have another nine trained volunteers to join their existing team in supporting people requiring assistance with any grief and loss issues in the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen areas.

Anyone can call the chapter for support on 6648 3675.
