Mo the better in ?Movember

WHEN deciding to take part in Movember, the hardest decision Brad Greenshields had to make was 'what mo am I going to grow?'

"I'm still not sure what style I will go for. I'll have to wait and see how it goes," the Coffs Coast Advocate sports journalist said.

Movember (the month formally known as November) is a charity event held during November each year.

At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face.

The Movember participants known as Mo Bros then have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustaches and along the way raise as much money and awareness about male health issues as possible.

The key male health causes for Movember 2006 are prostate cancer, male depression and testicular cancer.

Admitting that he doesn't believe growing a mo will make him any more attractive to the ladies, Brad said it was important to support men's health issues.

"So many women's causes get publicity and support, but bloke issues don't get the recognition they deserve ? we are expected to grin and bear it alone," he said.

Emerald Beach Mo Bro's member, Todd Ritchie, has similar reasons for taking part.

"Movember is such a good cause. And I know how much the laidies love the mo," he said.
