Mayor isn?t impressed

COFFS HARBOUR mayor Keith Rhoades says this electorate was in the media for all the wrong reasons yesterday and he is not happy about it.

"The issues at Bonville are virtually completed. There is money there, a shortlist for tenders and safety measures have been put in place," Cr Rhoades said.

"I don't condone what happened in State Parliament with Andrew Fraser and I can't explain what was going on in his mind for him to do this."

Cr Rhoades said he was commited to working for the Coffs Harbour local government to rebuild the reputation between this community and the State and Federal Government.

"I have spent 12 months rebuilding bridges," he said.

"Council is there to work with local members. I have a good relationship with the Federal member Luke Hartsuyker but with the State member it is just not there."

"As mayor I want what is best for the community and I had to pick up the bridges because of incidents like the one in parliament. It is things like that which will put this community on the outer."
