Make it a day of enjoyment

BEFORE you venture to Coffs Cup Day on Thursday, there are a few things you need to remember.

If you are under 18, you will only be allowed onto the course if you are in the direct company of a parent, and you must stay with them for the day.

"We don't believe it's the day or place to bring children," Coffs Harbour Racing Club CEO, Russ Atkinson, said.

"If you're intoxicated, don't bother turning up to the track, because security will have the right to refuse you entry.

"They'll even be armed with breath-testing kits."

From 3pm in public areas, the only beers to be served will be mid-strength and light beer.

Also from 3pm, the maximum number of alcoholic drinks you can buy will be reduced from four to two.

Howard Street will be an alcohol-free zone from 9am on Thursday to 9am on Friday.
